Happycat.jpg was found by Fancycat on the frontpage of a Russian catfood company that has since gone down. But the legend lives on in the
emoticon. Happycat is almost defintely a British Shorthair. You may find more pictures and information on his bretheren here -- http://www.cfa.org/breeds/profiles/british.html -- but they just aren't as happy.
The shirt has many uses. For example, one customer wrote, "This shirt is awesome because the children (ages late 3 and early 4) in a preschool class that I help in believe that if they are not quiet when we walk in the hallways, the Pirate Cats will get them. The kids love thinking about the pirate cats... i.e. if the toys are not cleaned up, the pirate cats will get them, they cannot leave out "Michael the potato friend" (a completely seperate story) out because the pirate cats will eat him, and so on. When I saw this shirt, I knew I had to have one and I showed a picture of them to the two teachers of that class, and they want one as well.
